Submission Guidelines

Crows’ Teeth is looking for psychologically-terrifying horror that gets back to the core of what horror is really about: finding what scares us most. We accept all forms of art, from paintings to editorials. We accept simultaneous submissions and previously published work, provided that the art no longer has an active copyright. Not safe for work content is acceptable.

All submissions must be sent to crowsteethmagazine@gmail.com before they can be considered for publication. We ask that you include a cover letter with the artist(s) names in the body of the e-mail and a bit about you. In addition, the subject line must contain the title of your work and the kind of work it is, so that it may be sent to the appropriate editor.

Submission Guidelines by Genre:

Visual Art: File must either be attached or linked in the body of the e-mail, and must be downloadable.

Video: File must either be attached or linked in the body of the e-mail, and, if linked, must be uploaded to vimeo or youtube. A screenplay must also be provided to make the video accessible to all viewers. All actors/actresses present in the film must be credited, and the film must not contain copyrighted material. Maximum runtime: 30 mins.

Music:  File must either be attached to the e-mail or linked to a soundcloud file. File must be .mp3 or .mp4 format.

Poetry: Text of document must be pasted in the body of the e-mail in addition to being attached. Must be saved in .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf format. Word limit: 2,000 words.

Short Fiction: Text of document must be pasted in the body of the e-mail in addition to being attached. Must be saved in .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf format. Word limit: 7,000 words.

Non-Fiction: Text of document must be pasted in the body of the e-mail in addition to being attached. Must be saved in .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf format. Editorials, scholarly essays about horror, and personal essays are acceptable. Word limit: 7,000 words.

Novella: Text of document must be pasted in the body of the e-mail in addition to being attached. Must be saved in .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf format. Author must be willing to have the story published in chapters over a 3-12 month period depending on the length of the piece. Word limit: 50,000 words.
